The Catalan Government has extended for one more year the designation of Residential Market Pressure Areas (ZMRT), which now covers a total of 302 municipalities across Catalonia. In the Girona region, 16 municipalities have been added, including Llagostera, Sant Gregori, La Jonquera, El Port de la Selva, and Palau-sator, while Banyoles and Figueres have been removed after improvements in their housing market indicators. In these municipalities, new rental agreements will continue to be subject to the legal rent caps, aiming to curb rising housing costs and improve access to affordable housing in areas experiencing high residential demand.
