The Mariner Palamós Terra de Mar Festival returns, a major celebration of maritime heritage.
The Palamós Terra de Mar Festival is a great opportunity to connect with the world of the sea and enjoy all kinds of activities with the family.
This year, dedicated to maritime rescue, an essential institution for seafarers of the past and present. Throughout the festival, there will be a tribute to its work, alongside a wide range of activities to celebrate the sea in all its dimensions!
Reserve 13 and 14 May and enjoy a different weekend on the Costa Brava.

Open days on the traditional, historic, harbour, transport, fishing and rescue vessels taking part in the festival:
Centenary schooner Santa Eulàlia from the Barcelona Maritime Museum, built in 1918 for coastal transport and trade.
Äran schooner. Built in the North Sea in 1903 and originally dedicated to coastal transport.
Trawl fishing boat Estrella del Sur III from the port of Palamós, specialised in prawn fishing and fishing tourism.
Rescue vessel Salvamar Sirius from Salvamento Marítimo. Ministry of Public Works
Punta Mayor, deep-sea tug from Salvamento Marítimo. Ministry of Public Works
Surveillance vessel of the Police of the Generalitat - Mossos d’Esquadra Cap de Creus
Patrol vessels Río Francolí and Río Guadalquivir from the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard
Fishing boats. Gacela and Estrella Polar are two wooden fishing boats that are part of the collections of the Fishing Museum.

Leisure area and children's entertainment
Participatory workshops for children to learn, through play, about the world of the sea, boats, fish and water sports: pirate ship, sustainable carousel, tattoos, nautical skill games, nautical decoration, recycling, sailor's knots, compass and rope making, and responsible fishing.

Coastal sailing around Palamós
Sail along the coast of Palamós aboard tourist boats, discovering the most emblematic spots on the Palamós coastline: the port of Palamós, the bay, Sant Esteve Castle, Cala Margarida, Cap Gros, S'Alguer, Castell beach... aboard the vessels:

Introduction to kayaking
Introductory session with double open kayaks for those who want to discover the world of canoeing for the first time. Outings in the Bay of Palamós.

Introductory session with individual boards and "big sup" for anyone who wants to try it.

Rowing regatta with Catalan llagut
Social meeting organised by the rowers of Club de Rem Palamós
at Platja Gran. Rowing clubs from all over Catalonia dedicated to this team sport are invited.
The event will consist of a 700 m regatta with 2 lanes and 1 turning buoy.

Boating and skill exhibition with the Calafell Rescue Boat
The crew of the Calafell boat, a replica of a rescue vessel from the early 20th century, will perform spectacular capsizing and righting manoeuvres.

Maritime Rescue exhibition
Sea and air rescue and evacuation drill. Rescue exercise for shipwrecked people with the support of speedboats and a rescue helicopter, all coordinated by Salvamento Marítimo.

Introduction to dinghy sailing
Enjoy the experience of crewing a raquero, a light sailing boat specially designed for learning to sail, accompanied by professional instructors from Club Nàutic Costa Brava-Vela Palamós.

Guided tours of Espai del Peix with tasting
At Espai del Peix we will explain how the fish auction works, what types of fish are caught and consumed on our coast, and what the traditional seafaring cuisine tastes like.
Prior registration at the Fishing Museum is required.

Boat cooking demonstration
Demonstration of seafaring cuisine by fishermen and restaurateurs from Palamós.
Preparation of traditional onboard dishes and recipes with conger eel as the main ingredient.
With the participation of chefs Àngel Sales from the boat Tia Cinta, Joan Gisbert from Nou Gisbert, Eugeni Soler from Miguel Bertrán, Pablo Estrella from Restaurant La Catifa, Pol Cabanes from Grup Marbach and Quim Casellas from Hotel Casamar in Llafranc.
Presentation and explanation by Toni Izquierdo from Obrador Mas dels Arcs Gourmet.
